Monday March 17

Everyone at work was supposed to wear green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Lots of people did - I was surprised. Our building employees usually don't participate very much. We also had a huge dessert spread to celebrate 5 office birthdays in March. We had mini-cupcakes, bite-sized strudel, and 2 cakes. The day went by so quickly, I couldn't believe it! I got a lot of compliments on the pulled pork barbecue I took to the divemaster party on Saturday! I adapted my late mother-in-law's recipe. I was happy the group finished it all off.

I Love Weekends...

I had a pretty busy day yesterday. Wayne and I ran a few errands in the morning. One of those was to join the Y. Wayne's been going to the Y for a while, but I decided it's time for me to join as well. I've been losing weight (yay!) but need to tone up. The Y is offering water fitness classes which I know would help me. I went to the store to pick up something nice to wear to a party in honor of 3 of Wayne's scuba companions who just passed their divemaster courses. We had a very nice time, viewed some of the photos they've taken on our Florida trip and on past dives to the Caribbean. The photos were fantastic. It made me wish that one day I'd be able to take part in the sport. I don't think so, though. I'll settle for snorkeling for now. If only I were more comfortable in the water... I'll be working on some crocheting this afternoon. I have a baby blanket to finish. I just finished off a small round ripple which I'll add to the col

I've had a tough week, so no blogging recently. I have to take the time to post a photo of my newest acquisition - a "Jimbo" hook. I have been trying it out to see if I require additional customization - i.e. a thumb rest. But I think it's perfect just the way it is. I cannot describe how smooth and light this hook is, and it's so beautiful! Thank you, Jimbo! You are a genius! I heartily recommend checking out Jimbo's blog. You'll find a link to the right. The yellow piece shown with the hook will be a round ripple baby afghan - probably a donation. I purchased some "I Love This Yarn" through Crafts etc. online. It is so soft. I need to make a baby afghan for my brother to give as a gift to a friend. The afghan needs a fringe, and I've noticed that this yarn separates easily when cut. So I'll probably use something else for the gift afghan. My rosaries are finished and have been sent to my sister for the church bazaar. That

Sunday Evening -

Its been a nice quiet weekend - no particular plans so it was very relaxing. Tom had his piano lesson on Saturday. He's doing very well. Dan washed his car, and I wish he'd wash mine! It sure needs it. Wayne and I ran some errands on Saturday, and he had a class to go to today. The weather was nicer today than yesterday. I wish I had gotten some crocheting done this weekend though. I'm not in the mood for some reason, even though I have projects to complete. I bought a small digital picture frame for my desk at work. I have lots of photos I'd like to keep close by. My brothers and sisters will be getting together this coming weekend again. That will be nice.
