Random thoughts and scenes from my life - past, present and future - and the most important things to me: my family, my friends and my love of crochet!
Justin and PopPop enjoying the fireworks on July 3. In one of the videos below, you can hear Justin shouting "Purple! Purple!" He wanted purple fireworks!
Hi Jeannie!!! Love that smile in the first photo!!.. and he sounds so CUTE too! We saw some fireworks ourselves on Friday, but the show definitely seemed shorter this year, compared to others, so it was a little disappointing. We are thinking MAYBE we'll go to another showing, elsewhere, tonight, depending how everybody's schedules agree or not. I'm crossing my fingers we can!.. Hoping you're enjoying your holiday weekend! Happy 4th to you and yours!! ((hugs)) ~tina
I picked up a nice skein of cotton yarn I had on hand here in a beautiful creamy French Vanilla color. I fashioned two round ripple washcloths from it. One has some front post stitches in the repeats to give it a nice nubby texture. My brothers and sisters and I got together today, working at my father's house. I can't believe it's already over a year since he's gone. My test kit came in the mail yesterday - the one I ordered from the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry. It was simple enough to do - I received 4 swabs and swabbed the inside of my cheek in 4 locations. The swabs were then inserted into a cover, and I mailed the swabs out today. I think it says it takes about 4-6 weeks until they notify you that you have been added to the registry. Wouldn't it be a miracle if they find I am a match for my sweet sister-in-law?
Just a few fun questions: 1. Why do they say one eats like a bird? Only if you eat an amount equal to one-half your body weight every day… 2. Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways? 3. Why do drive-up ATMs have Braille keys? Seems like if a driver needs Braille keys, they shouldn't be driving. (This one I actually do know the answer to…) 4. Why are some hot dogs sold in packs of 10, when hot dog buns come in packs of 8 or 12? 5. Why is it called "sleeping like a baby" when a baby wakes up every two hours? 6. Why do dogs like to stick their heads out the window when you're driving, but they don't like it if you blow in their faces? 7. What happened to the B batteries? Why go from A to C? 8. Why do they sterilize the prisoner's arm for a lethal injection? 9. Who was the first person to decide that it might be good to eat the thing that just came out of that chicken's butt? 10. Who decides that dog food has a new...
I've been struggling again with depression. I've decided to try talk therapy in addition to medication. My days have been filled with tears and with an overwhelming sadness for many months now. I hope that the new medications and the therapy will make a big change in me. My singular joy in life has been visiting with my grandson. I haven't picked up a crochet hook in ages, with the exception of those chemo caps I promised to my sister in law. I finished them and sent them on their way. I will update this post with photos of the finished caps. Please forgive me for not posting on a regular basis. I do enjoy writing and miss blogging. Please keep me in your prayers, good friends.
